Bevrijdende Vleugels Museum  Best

The museum park originated from a temporary exhibition in 1984, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Operation "Market Garden". This exhibition was a great success and changed, therefore, into a permanent museum which was located in my place of birth Veghel.

The museum expanded through the years and therefore it had to move to a larger location, which was found in Best. On Wednesday September 17, 1997 the "Wings of Liberation" Museum Park was re-opened in presence of His Royal Highness Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.

All though the main theme of the museum is World War II, also a few modern airplanes are present here. So besides the two Dakotas and F-104 Starfighter can be found and a former Hungarian Air Force MiG-21 Fishbed. I visited the museum quite a few times as it was first located in my hometown Veghel. Since it moved to Best I've been there three times. Below you'll find some pictures taken during my latest visit.      (Click for an inventory list)
