Museo Storico dell'Aeron. Mil. Italiane  Vigna di Valle

Along the Lago di Bracciano in Vigna di Valle, the official Italian Air Force Museum is situated. This former naval airbase which dates long before World War II, opened it's doors for the first time in 1977.

In the mid nineties it has been closed several times for enlargement and restoring works. But on August 5th 1999 it opened again in presence of the Vigna di Valle base commander.

During it's time as naval airbase it was mainly used by amphibian airplanes like the Cant Z.506. Vigna di Valle is still a small military compound so don't forget to bring your ID.

On May 4th 2004, during a small tour through Italy I visited the Museo Storico dell'Aeronautica Militare Italiane in Vigna di Valle together with Mark Verstraaten. Here a impression what the museum looks like. For more information visit the museums website.   (Click here for an inventory list)
