Royal Intern. Air Tattoo  RAF Fairford,  17 July 2010

This year I visited the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford again. Together with some friends we travelled by bus, organized by 'Onze Luchtmacht'. It was all very well arranged and we even had the opportunity to buy tickets for the Jubilee Garden. When we arrived at RAF Fairford we first did a small tour around the static area. For some reason it looks like the static display is getting smaller every year. Despite that it is still well worth the visit. Some of the highlights at the static display were the Swedish JAS-39NG Gripen and the Omani AF C-130 Hercules.

Around ten o'clock we entered the Jubilee Garden and found ourselves a chair with a nice view. Unfortunately the weather got worse during the afternoon which made it very hard to take good shots of the airshow. The position of the Jubilee Garden area was also very disappointing, as most aircraft did their show to the right of our position. A good lesson for next time, don't buy Jubilee Garden tickets. Halfway the afternoon the weather improved, and we really enjoyed the display of the F-22 Raptor. This was by far the best display I've ever seen.     (Click for a log)
