100 ans Aeronavale Airshow,  13 June 2010

After a nice evening with the guys in Toulon, and a good night rest in a F1 Hotel near Hyères we got up early again. As Maurice and Fred didn't see the USS Harry S. Truman in the harbor last week, we tried to search for it in the bay of Hyères. Last evening we were unsuccessful, but this morning it was present in the bay, next to the French carrier Charles de Gaulle and the Spanish carrier Principe de Asturias.

Around noon we entered BAN Hyères again for the anniversary airshow. The weather was very cooperative, which made it a very nice day out, with lots of nice photo opportunities. With the spotters pass we collected the day before we were allowed in the same special area, which was in front of crowd line.

The US Navy C-2 Greyhound was one of my personal highlights, which was one of a total of eight participating US Navy aircraft. The nice variety of French Naval aircraft really made this day complete. Types like the Alouette III, Panther, Dauphin, CAP.10, MS.893 and E-2 Hawkeye are rarely seen in our area.
