Foreign Fighter - Flying Display

Compared to many other airshows and opendays in Europe the Airshow in Kecskemét had lots of foreign military fighters in the flying display. I can only think of one airshow which normally has more fighters in their air display, the Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford. But as stated before, this show was unfortunately cancelled due to the bad weather. This makes the airshow at the Hungarian Air Base Kecskemét the main event on this years airshow calendar.

A few highlights of this years flying displays were the EF2000 Typhoon of the Spanish Air Force, the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen and Finnish Air Force Hornet. The Belgian and Dutch F-16 displays were also pretty good, and they also used lots of flares, as you can see below. The real highlight of the flying display was the Mikoyan MiG-21 Lancer of the Romanian Air Force. Although the Romanian Aerostar and Israeli Elbit team upgraded 110 MiG-21's to Lancer standard, these birds are rarely seen in the flying display.
