KLu Opendays  Gilze-Rijen AB,  16/18 June 2005

The Koninklijke Luchtmacht Opendays of 2005 were held at Gilze-Rijen AB. I decided to go to there on the arrival day and the second show day. Thursday the 16th Maurice, Fred and I arrived at Gilze-Rijen AB in the early morning.

The highlight of the airshow already arrived on Wednesday inside the body of an Egypt Air Force C-130 Hercules, a Gomhouria Mk.8 of the Egyptian Flying Training Air Squadron. The Hercules was of course a highlight itself, and we were lucky to see it depart on Thursday. A bit more history on these nice highlights can be found at the arrival page.

For the airshow I decided to go there on Saturday as I had to work on Friday. This was a very good decision as there were huge traffic problems around Gilze-Rijen AB during the Friday airshow. Lots of people were told not to come to Gilze-Rijen AB anymore and where send back home. These problems  made us decide too leave very early in the morning on Saturday.       (Click here for a full log)
