Tanágra - Flying Display,  17/18 September 2005

On Sunday the main event of the Archangel Airshow 2005 took place. We arrived at Tanágra around eight o'clock in the morning and entered the base only half an hour later. The day before we found a nice spot along the taxi track, with a clear view on the runway. So today we went back to this nice spot.

The flying display began with lots of Hellenic Air Force stuff, like a fly-by with an A-7, F-4, F-16 and Mirage 2000. And later a low level dogfight by two F-16's against two Mirage 2000's. The base attack that followed was also very spectacular, but it was sometimes hard the take pictures of.

The weather was pretty good again this day, so we were able to take some nice shots of the flying display. Unfortunately during the morning we had some trouble with some bugs coming out of the grass. This resulted in some shots with a lot of bug-spot on it. The real highlight of the flying display was the fly-by of an Hellenic Air Force C-47B. This was the main reason for us to stay at Tanágra in stead of going to another base which was open today.
