Elefsína,  16 September 2005

After we picked up our rental car we drove towards Elefsína which is located only a few miles west of Athens. When we drove underneath the landing area the first military aircraft of the day was noted, when the only remaining YS-11 departed. At the main gate we asked whether it was possible to take pictures of the aircraft parked at the static display. Within a few minutes we were driving on our first Hellenic Air Force base.

The weather during this day was not that good. Early in the morning it had been raining and most of the day it was cloudy. Luckily we had some sunny moments when we were taking pictures of some of the aircraft. Unfortunately it was not possible to take pictures of every aircraft parked on base, but we were more than happy with the aircraft we did take pictures of.

Besides the aircraft parked at the static display, we saw several Hercules' and other VIP-transports. We also managed to read some P-3 Orion's but unfortunately we couldn't take any shots of them either.
