Słupsk-Redzikowo,  25 August 1999

The next morning we drove towards Słupsk-Redzikowo. This is the base where the Polish MiG-23 unit is stationed. This time we were very early so we had to wait for about an hour. When we finally entered the base we drove to a small base museum. Here they gave us some info about the base, the history and the future. 

After that we were escorted to the flightline were two MiG-23s were parked. We were able to take some very nice pictures here. In front of the flightline were three big hangars. Inside these hangars we saw more MiG-23s, an Iskra and an An-2. At another flightline four MiG-23s we parked. These four Floggers flew two waves and both times we were able to take some nice pictures of them taxiing, taking off and landing. They even performed a small airshow with these four Floggers.

Late in the afternoon our base visit at Słupsk ended and we drove back to Holland. Here we arrived in the middle of the night around three o’clock after driving more than 2500 kms in two days. One month later the Polish Floggers were withdrawn from use.
